Vedic Commentary in English : Perfection of the body, by mastery over gross elements, is explained in this aphorism. The meaning of perfection of the body is that the body of a yogi becomes beautiful, pleasing, possessing excessive strength, and hard as adamant. Yogi achieves this attainment of action by the use of material science only. Yogi cognizes nature's gross elements by performing Sanyama over the five appearances in the trance, then conquers those elements by implementing that knowledge through material science. In this way, he achieves mastery over the gross elements, and as a result, he also knows the properties of food ingredients and knows which food ingredients and medicines will result in beauty, grace, strength, and adamantine hardness of the body. He also knows which types of exercises are to be performed to achieve the strength and hardness of the body. In aphorism 3.24 there is the advice of achieving the strength of an elephant. In this way by using material science, the physical body of this yogi becomes so, strong that it is hard to harm him in the normal way and he can perform such acts which are not possible to be performed by a common person. In the same way, he also achieves the strength of mind along with the body, by worshiping the GOD.
