Component Word : tat vairaagyaat api doShabiijakShaye kaivalyam.
Sutra in English : tadvairaagyaadapi doShabiijakShaye kaivalyam.50.
Meaning in English : (vairaagyaat) By desirelessness (api) even (tat) for that discriminative knowledge, (doSha-biija-kShaye) the seeds of defects = afflictions are destroyed, which results in (kaivalyam) salvation for the Yogi.
Swami Dayanand Saraswati Commentary : By becoming desireless for the attainments of "Sorrowless", a yogi should try to destroy the seeds of defects i.e., afflictions, because without destroying these one cannot obtain absolute independence = salvation. (Rigvedaadibhashyabhuumika - On emancipation)

Ancient seer Meaning in English : (yadaa) When (klesha-karma-kShaye) the afflictions and acts are being attenuated = weakened (asya) this yogi (evam bhavati) thinks like that (ayam) this (viveka-pratyayaH) discriminative knowledge is (dharmaH) the characteristic (sattvasya) of "Illuminative Quality", (cha) and (sattvam) this "Illuminative Quality" being inanimate, changeable in nature and is for the purpose of Soul, (nyastam) is classified (heyapakShe) as avoidable; (cha) and on the other hand (puruShaH) Soul (apariNaamii) is unchangeable, and (suddhaH) pure in his form (anyaH) is distinct (sattvaat iti) from the "Illuminative Quality" of Matter. (tataH) Then (evam) in this way (virajya-maanasya) he becomes desireless for the discriminative knowledge also, and (klesha-biijaani) the seeds of afflictions (dagdha-shaali-biija-kalpaani) are burnt-up like the seeds of rice (yaani) which (aprasava-samarthaani) become incapable of sprouting again, (asya) of this yogi, (taani) those seeds of afflictions (gachchhanti) pass, (manasaa saha) along with the mind, (pratyastam) into latency. (teShu praliineShu) On becoming these seeds latent, (puruShaH) the Soul (na) does not (bhu~Nkte) experience (idam taapatrayam) the triad of pain (punaH) again.
(tat) This is the state, in which (eteShaam guNaanaam) these Qualities (abhivyaktaanaam) manifest (mansi) in mind (karma-klesha-vipaaka-svaruupeNa) as action, affliction, and fruition but (charitaarthaanaam) having fulfilled their objective of providing experience and salvation to the Soul, and (pratiprasave) the Qualities pass back into Matter, i.e., do not come back to action, (this state) (puruShasya aatyantikaH guNa-viyogaH) is the complete separation of the Soul from the "Qualities" and it is called as (kaivalyam) Salvation. (tadaa) In this state (puruShaH) Soul (svaruupa-pratiShThaa) exists in his own form = nature and (chitishaktiH) consciousness (eva iti) alone remains.
Vedic Commentary in English : In the Egoistic Cognitive Trance, by the cognizance of discriminative knowledge of the Mind and Soul, and on account of such cognizance, the attainments of the lordship of existing substance and omniscience are achieved and thereby yogi has the knowledge of past and future characteristics of all the material objects of the Matter and therefore becomes lord of all such substances. But even after having such lordship of material objects, the yogi remains unable to exist in his own conscious form. Yogi desiring cognizance of the conscious form of the Soul, takes this state of attainments as an obstacle for his target. Yogi, with the mental state that is devoid of impurities of Activity and Inertia Qualities, now weakens the afflictions existing in the mind and acts resulting from such afflictions i.e., brings the afflictions into the dormant state by attenuating them. On achieving this state of mind, he becomes desireless even towards the discriminative knowledge which is the characteristic of Illuminative Quality only. Since in this state, the yogi knows that Qualities of Illumination is also inanimate, changeable, and for the purpose of other and this has no ability to become a means for cognizance of Soul. On the other hand, a Soul is a conscious object that is unchangeable, pure, and totally distinct from the Qualities of Illumination and others.
In this way by knowing the superiority of the Soul, the yogi becomes desireless even toward the Qualities of Illumination. By proper adoption of this Supreme Desirelessness, the seeds of afflictions existing in the mind become like the burnt-up seeds, i.e., become just like the burnt-up seeds of rice which are incapable of sprouting again. Such a mind, with this state of afflictions, passes into latency. For this state, Seer Vyaasa had said in aphorism 1.5— "such mind when its objects are obtained and not affected by the result of Qualities exists as pure like the Soul and disappears on attaining salvation." In this way on completion of the authority of mind, afflictions become just like the burnt-up seeds, the mind getting passed into the Matter or existing as pure like the Soul, the yogi does not experience the triad of pain again.
For achieving salvation, destruction of afflictions and desirelessness towards the attainments is also prescribed in a hymn of Yajurveda 19.74 as —
"Those having the pure modifications and affairs, by the study of Vedas, practicing yoga, destroy the afflictions, become desireless towards the attainments of yoga, achieve salvation and enjoy the bliss of GOD." (Swami Dayanand Saraswati). In this, the advice of becoming desireless towards attainment is very clear.
On achieving this state, the mind of a yogi, which is the product of Qualities of Matter, and which was the base of afflictions, acts, and fruition thereof, has completed its duty i.e., fulfilled the purpose of providing experience and salvation, so, on the departure of Soul from this body at the time of death, passes into its material cause = Qualities along with the afflictions which became just like burnt-up seeds, and Soul get complete separation from the "Qualities" and achieves salvation. In this state, the Soul exists in his own form and exists as consciousness only.
Query:- On separation from Qualities of Illumination etc. i.e., in the salvation, does the Soul exist at one place without any knowledge, action as motionless?
Solution:- In salvation, the Soul exists with his natural powers, and on the basis of his natural powers he moves unobstructedly in the omnipresent GOD, as per his desire, and experiences the bliss of GOD. In this regard, various seers have said that his natural powers remain with him, but the materialistic association does not remain there. His state of enjoyment and blissfulness is explained in our commentary on aphorism 4.34.
